Chronic bronchitis is a form of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD which is a group of lung diseases that cause blockage of the windpipe and leads to breathing problems. Most Common Symptoms of Bronchitis

  • Frequent coughing or a cough that produces a lot of mucus and sputum
  • Wheezing
  • A whistling or squeaky sound when you breathe
  • Shortness of breath, especially when doing any physical activity
  • Tightness in the chest experienced most of the time

Since smoking and other air pollutants cause most cases of chronic bronchitis, the best way to prevent it is to avoid smoking and exposure to air pollutants. It’s also important to try to avoid lung irritants such as secondhand smoke, air pollution, chemical fumes, and dust which are harmful for the patients and can lead to complications in breathing and other trouble.
